Matching Boneless Corset and Bolero

Five hours of work resulted in one of my favorite projects to date.  This corset and bolero were created from a single jacket which was cut in half.

There were two goals here.  First was to have a proper bolero/shrug.  Up until this point, all I had was the shrug made from a shirt.

The second was to get away from boned corsets.  I love them, but they can get uncomfortable.  However, I need something to cover where my blouses and skirts come together.  The answer was this non-boned corset.

A full description of how the items were created can be found on my blog, History, Interrupted, in an article entitled Improvising Steampunk Fashion; or, the Murder of a Perfectly Good Jacket.
